# How to Set Up SMTP for Email via GMX

> Learn how to set up SMTP for GMX, including the host, port, and login details.

Use these settings with PDF.co’s [Send Email API](/api/email/send) to send emails with or without attachments through your GMX account. You can call the API directly or use PDF.co’s integrations with Zapier and Make. See Reference Material below for integration guides.

## SMTP Server Details

* **SMTP Server/Host:** `smtp.gmx.com`
* **SMTP Port:** Use `25` for non-SSL or `465` for SSL connections.

## Authentication Information

* **SMTP User Name:** Your GMX email address (e.g., `yourname@gmx.com`).
* **SMTP Password:** Your GMX password.

## Considerations

* Ensure you are using the correct port based on your security preference: Port 25 is typically used for non-secure connections, whereas Port 465 is used for secure (SSL) connections.
* If you encounter issues with sending email, check to ensure that SMTP access is enabled in your GMX account settings. Additionally, verify that your account credentials and server settings are correctly entered.
